Join an Action Medical Research midnight walk with the PLOD

Teams of tenacious walkers are being sought to take part in overnight endurance events taking place in some of the UK's greatest walking regions. The PLOD series of events raises funds for children’s charity Action Medical Research with walks taking place this summer in a choice of seven stunning UK locations – on either the South Downs Way, Cotswold Way, Chiltern Way or Yorkshire’s Chalkland Way, or following sections of the Rutland Round, in England; the Trossachs hills in Scotland or in Northern Ireland's beautiful Mourne Mountains.

David Graham, PLODs organiser at Action Medical Research, says: "Whether you are a seasoned trail walker or just up for the experience of a big challenge for 2012 this is the event for you. Our PLODs are very popular, with many teams returning year after year to beat their previous best time. They are tough events but great fun for all involved and very rewarding."
